Steps

Translated from the Korean original. Amounts are as in the original recipe.

  1. Slice the potato, steam it in a steamer, and mash it through a sieve. Cut the perilla leaves into fine strips and soak them in cold water to remove some of the aroma.
  2. Blanch the bacon once, slice it, and stir-fry it with the minced garlic.
  3. Mince the mashed potato and perilla leaves together into a dough, pull off pieces about the size of a thumb, dust with flour, roll into rounds, and press marks with a fork to make gnocchi.
  4. Boil the gnocchi and drain.
  5. Melt butter in a pan, stir-fry the minced onion, minced garlic, minced green onion, the stir-fried bacon, king oyster mushrooms, and white pepper, then add the milk, heavy cream, and sugar and bring to a boil.
  6. Add the gnocchi, boil once more, and finish.
💡 TipBlanching the salty bacon once before use reduces sodium intake, and onion, milk, and heavy cream bring out a rich, mild flavor.
