Steps

Translated from the Korean original. Amounts are as in the original recipe.

  1. Tear the shredded dried pollack into small pieces by hand and rinse in cold water. Slice the onion, shiitake mushrooms and apple into strips, and devein the shrimp by inserting a skewer between two or three joints on the back, then rinse.
  2. Put the dried pollack, shrimp, shiitake mushrooms and onion in cold water and boil for about 20 minutes, then add the apple to remove the bitter taste of the pollack.
  3. Serve in a bowl.
💡 TipThis mild dried pollack soup is seasoned with the natural saltiness of the dried pollack and shrimp instead of salt and soy sauce. Adding mussels or clams gives a refreshing, clear broth.
