Steps

Translated from the Korean original. Amounts are as in the original recipe.

  1. Wash the cabbage, separate the leaves widely, and cut into about 7 x 12 cm pieces.
  2. Steam the cut cabbage in a steamer with rising steam for about 5 minutes.
  3. Finely mince the carrot, onion, and shiitake mushrooms, and mash the tofu and squeeze it in cheesecloth.
  4. Season the ground pork with green onion, minced garlic, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and black pepper, then mix with the ingredients from step 3.
  5. Sprinkle flour on the steamed cabbage, place the mixture from step 4 on it, roll it up, and steam it in a steamer.
  6. For the sauce, first stir-fry minced onion and garlic to bring out the aroma, then add tomato ketchup, soy sauce, and plum syrup.
💡 TipThe tough stems of cabbage leaves heat at a different rate from the tender leaves and make the dish uneven when cooked, so it is best to cut out the thick core with a knife before cooking.
