Steps
Translated from the Korean original. Amounts are as in the original recipe.
- Clean the crab and cut into bite-size pieces.
- Put the dried kelp and crab in 1 cup of water and boil to make 2/3 cup of broth.
- Wash the cabbage and tomato and cut into 1 cm x 1 cm pieces.
- Wash the green onion and slice on the diagonal.
- Remove the crab used for the broth and pick out the meat.
- Dissolve the doenjang in the broth, add the cabbage and tomato and bring to a quick boil, then add the picked crab meat, green onion, and minced garlic to finish.
💡 TipScrub the crab shell with a brush, remove the top shell and gills, then cut the body into pieces. - Reducing the amount of broth in the doenjang soup to 120 to 150 g per serving reduces sodium intake.
