Steps

Translated from the Korean original. Amounts are as in the original recipe.

  1. Soak the glutinous rice, clean the abalone and separate it from the innards, then add rice wine and blend the abalone innards in a blender.
  2. Score the abalone meat and grill it in a pan with sesame oil.
  3. Finely slice the carrot and seaweed.
  4. First stir-fry the abalone innards thoroughly in sesame oil.
  5. While stir-frying the innards, add the soaked glutinous rice and stir-fry thoroughly.
  6. When the porridge is nearly done, add the carrot and seaweed and boil the porridge, and top with the abalone as garnish.
💡 TipStir-frying the innards in sesame oil brings out plenty of nutty flavor, and the seaweed and carrot add chewiness for a texture and richness that is not salty.
